World War II Veteran Del Riley speaks March 13, 1 p.m.
World War II veteran and former Linn County clerk Del Riley will speak at LBCC on Tuesday, March 13 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in the Fireside Room, Calapooia Center building, 6500 Pacific Blvd., Albany.
Riley, an Albany resident, will speak about his life before, during, and after World War II. Riley served in the 10th Mountain Division in Italy during World War II, during which he was wounded and for which he received a Purple Heart.
Riley later became Linn County Clerk, and was instrumental in creating the nation's first county-wide elections by mail in 1981. He is a member of Gideon’s International and has spent much time offering free Bibles and discussions at LBCC.
