LBCC Theater Production of “Tango Mike (Thanks Much)”
The original play “Tango Mike (Thanks Much),” based on real life stories of local veterans, will be performed at Linn-Benton Community College Nov. 20, 21, and 22. Written and directed by LBCC theater instructor Dan Stone, the play brings to life the poignant story of veterans and their families suffering from the effects of PTSD, based on the lives and stories of veterans from Linn and Benton counties. Performances are Nov. 20, 21, and 22 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. Set in Albany, Oregon on Memorial Day, the script was created through interviews and story circles with local veterans who served in the Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam wars. The main character, Mike "Buddy" McIntyre, and his family are celebrating the holiday with family and friends, when unexpectedly Buddy's father, Cooper, shows up. Buddy and his father have been estranged from each other for the past fifteen years. Both men are grappling with their own battles with PTS...
