Recreational Caving Series of Classes
Learn the sport of recreational caving in this series of classes offered through LBCC Albany Community Education this summer. Caving experts will guide students in this lecture and lab series to three caves in Washington: Ole’s Cave and Lake Cave near Cougar, and Poacher’s Cave in Trout Lake. Students can choose to take any or all trips. The one-hour mandatory orientation introduces the student to the basic knowledge, skills and tools needed for proper caving activities. Students will also learn about cave formation and ecology. Carpools will be organized for each cave trip. Headgear is provided. The first class in the series, Ole’s Cave, will meet on Wednesday, June 22 from 7 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. for the one-hour mandatory orientation, and on Saturday, June 25, from 7 a.m. to 7:50 p.m. for the field trip to the cave.
