The Calapooia Center Gallery at Linn-Benton Community College features the work of LBCC student Christina Royce on display through February 28. An artist reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 8 from 3 to 4 p.m. in the gallery.   Titled “A New Reality,” Royce’s exhibit brings an explosion of color in her drawings, which depict lovely images with floral and landscape themes. The highly saturated drawings are created through her elegant use of oil pastels. Bright photographs compliment the drawings with a multitude of neon seascapes. Royce’s artwork invites the viewer to enjoy the colors of the world in new ways. "Amanecer" by Jennie Link Work by photographer Jennie Link will be on display at Linn-Benton Community College’s Calapooia Center Gallery through November 24. A reception will be held Monday, Nov. 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. Link’s work is comprised of color and black and white prints ranging from landscapes to cityscapes, shot almost exclusively with her cellphone allowing her to capitalize on spontaneous compositions and interweave art with her active academic life. Link is currently working on her associate’s degree in biology and chemistry, and plans to pursue a minor in art when she transfers to university to complete a bachelor’s degree.
