LBCC Real Estate Property Manager Course starts Oct. 1

A Real Estate Property Manager course will be offered through Linn-Benton Community College beginning October 1. Designed to prepare you to manage rental property, this course combines online and in-class instruction to meet the 60-hour requirement for the Oregon Property Manager Pre-License course. This seven-week class will meet on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning October 1 through November 12 at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd SW in room CC-212. Cost for this non-credit course is $550. Real Estate Broker Pre-License Exam course starts Sept. 30

A Real Estate Broker Pre-License Exam course will be offered through Linn-Benton Community College starting September 30, 2015. Designed to prepare you for the Oregon Real Estate Broker License Exam, this 150-hour course is the fastest way to qualify to take the state exam. This 10-week course will meet on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning September 30 at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd SW in room CC-212. The course content will be mostly Internet based. Students are expected to have online capability, to self-study and attend all class sessions. A mandatory study session will be held on Saturday, the last day of the class. Cost for this non-credit course is $600. LBCC Holds Free Pharmacy Technician Information Sessions

LBCC is offering free pre-application information sessions for those interested in training to become a Pharmacy Technician. Learn about life from the other side of the counter in this focused training program. Information sessions for fall term will be held on the following dates at LBCC’s Lebanon Center, 44 Industrial Way: Wednesday, Sept. 9 - 10:00am - 12:00pm, room LC 200 Tuesday, Sept. 22 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm, room LC 222 Monday, Sept. 28 - 11:00am - 1:00pm, room LC 222 Course training begins on February 1, 2016 and runs for 18 weeks until June 3, 2016 at LBCC’s Lebanon Center and area pharmacies. Gain invaluable skills and knowledge in customer service, pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacy math, prescriptions, billing, insurance, the latest industry software, pharmacology, and on-the-job training. Groundbreaking Ceremony for LBCC’s Health Occupations Center

Artist rendering of LBCC Health Occupations Center Albany, OR. - A groundbreaking ceremony for Linn-Benton Community College’s new Health Occupations Center will be held Tuesday, August 25 at 9 a.m. on the Samaritan Health Systems campus, Mullins Drive, Lebanon. The new 40,000-square-foot training center will bring LBCC’s healthcare programs into one learning space. The center is the first of four projects made possible by the passage of a $34 million bond last November to improve job-training facilities at the college. LBCC healthcare programs include nursing, nursing assistant, medical assistant, dental assistant, occupational therapy assistant, diagnostic imaging, phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, and polysomnographic technology. Currently, the programs are housed at several different locations in Linn County including the Albany campus, the LBCC Lebanon Center and Lebanon hospital. LBCC Call for Volunteer Facilitators

Volunteers are needed to facilitate small group training sessions for students in varied health care and medical fields. No medical experience needed. A free information session and facilitator training will be held Thursday, Sept. 24 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at LBCC’s Vineyard Mt. Room, Calapooia Center, room 213, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. Health care students in the fields of pharmacy, medical assisting, nursing, physician and public health from Linn-Benton Community College, Comp-NW Medical School and Oregon State University will meet in small, interdisciplinary group sessions to work on communications skills. Volunteer facilitators help guide the students through real-life case scenarios during each session. Sessions are designed to help students communicate and work together across their varied medical disciplines. Facilitators should be prepared to commit to approximately 15 hours of volunteer time during the sessions, which will be held October 2015 through April 2016 at LBCC
