Free "Earth Day Fair" April 19, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Courtyard

LBCC’s 8th annual free Earth Day Fair will be held Thursday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the college courtyard. This year’s theme is “End Plastic Pollution," featuring information on what we can do reduce our plastic use. Community tables and college programs will be on hand with information on sustainability efforts and earth science, including the latest recycling information. Activities include a shoe recycle for your old or slightly-worn shoes, flowerpot planting to support student scholarships, and “Earth Day CafĂ©” lunch offered for $5, $4 for students. LBCC Earth Day Fair is free and open to the public. Event is sponsored by the LBCC Student Leadership Council.

Earth Day Fair April 20, 11am-2pm, Courtyard

The 7th annual Earth Day Fair will be held Thursday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Linn-Benton Community College courtyard, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.  The fair is free and open to the public.  This year’s theme is “Science Matters,” with LBCC STEM faculty taking the Earth Day stage to answer science related questions and debunk science related myths. An “Upcycle Contest” will be around repurposing materials. Participants should drop upcycle designs to the Student Leadership office, Forum Student Union building before 11 a.m. Judging starts at 12 p.m. Winners announced at 1 p.m. Bring your old shoes for recycle to the First United Methodist Church Green Team table, and plant a flowerpot at the AAWCC table with flowers donated by Peoria Gardens. Take a campus organic farm tour at 1 p.m. Sign-up at the Horticulture Club table. Seeds and plant starts will be given out during the event.
