High school “Improv Smackdown” May 26, 7:30 p.m.
High school improv troupes from Albany and Corvallis will compete in LBCC’s second “Improv Smackdown” Friday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Russell Tripp Performance Center, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. Students from South Albany, West Albany, Corvallis, and Crescent Valley high schools will exchange knee-slappers and gut-busters in a four-way, semi-competitive showcase of improv comedy. Teams use audience suggestions to create scenes and "compete" for your laughter and applause. Teams are also playing for local human societies: South Albany and West Albany are playing for SafeHaven Human Society, Corvallis and Crescent Valley are playing for Heartland Humane Society. $1 from each ticket sold will go to the respective charity, based on how many fans each school brings.
