LBCC Short Term Training will be holding free monthly information sessions for Phlebotomy and Sleep Technician during Winter Term. Two free Veterinary Assistant Program information sessions will be held at Linn-Benton Community College in September and October for those interested in training to become a Veterinary Assistant. Sessions are Oct. 21 at 12 p.m., and Nov. 5 at 9 a.m. at the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center, room CC-212. No pre-registration needed to attend. The 17-week LBCC Veterinary Assistant Program starts Jan. 4 and runs through April 29, 2016. Skill areas covered include basic education and experience in common disease states, commonly used medical and surgical techniques, and an introduction to hospital management, business procedures and radiation safety. Cost for the program is $5,000. The program is eligible for financial aid. Program prerequisites available at www.linnbenton.edu/bulletins .
