One of our earliest co-curricular programs is the LBCC Livestock Judging Team, which was established in 1974. Animal Science faculty member and team coach Rick Klampe competed on the team as a student from 1979 to 1981, winning first-place overall at the 1980 North American International Livestock Exposition. Linn-Benton Community College’s Livestock Judging Team won two contests in two different state competitions on the same day, a first for the team. The two simultaneous wins happened Saturday, Oct. 21, one at the Big Fresno Fair in Fresno, California and one at the Colorado State Ram Classic in Ft. Collins, Colorado. In Fresno, four LBCC freshman and one sophomore, led by agriculture program faculty and team coach Clay Weber, took first place overall, and first place in the categories of beef, sheep, swine and reasons. In Ft. Collins, eight sophomores, led by agriculture faculty member and team coach Rick Klampe, also took first place overall, and first place in beef, sheep and goats and swine. In addition, the team had another historic win on October 14 when they defeated two university teams to win the Western Fall Classic held in Medford, Oregon, beating Fresno State and Chico State. Jayme Frazier Congratulations to Head Volleyball Coach Jayme Frazier and team on an undefeated regular season – landing a 2nd place finish in the NWAC playoffs. In addition, Coach Frazier was named NWAC Southern Region 2016 Coach of the Year, and player Chase Bohman was named NWAC South MVP, players Alyvia Sams and Montanna Gubrud were named 1st Team All-Stars, and player Mindy Wilmes was named 2nd Team All-Star.  The college kicked-off its 50th Anniversary with cake in the Commons Tuesday, December 6, which marks the day in 1966 that Linn and Benton county voters voted by a 2 to 1 margin to establish the college.
