LBCC Student Named OCCA All-Oregon Academic Team
Anthony Hewson, a computer science major at Linn-Benton Community College, has been nominated to the 2012 Oregon Community College Association All-Oregon Academic Team representing LBCC. Hewson will be honored, along with students nominated from Oregon’s 16 other community colleges, at a luncheon with the Governor in April, where he will receive a plaque from the OCCA and a $1,000 scholarship from the university he plans to attend after graduating from LBCC. Hewson, an Albany resident, is a member of the LBCC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa . He plans to transfer to Oregon State University to complete his bachelor’s degree in computer science. The Oregon Community College Association , in partnership with Phi Theta Kappa , recognizes outstanding students from Oregon’s community colleges yearly.
