Free Phlebotomy Information Sessions

Free Phlebotomy Program information sessions will be offered through Linn-Benton Community College for those interested in training to become a phlebotomist. Sessions will be held Tuesday, March 3, from noon to 2 p.m., or Monday, March 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. All sessions will be held at the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center, CC 210, 6500 SW Pacific Blvd. No pre-registration is required to attend. Attendance at one of the information sessions is mandatory to register for the program. The 16-week Phlebotomy Program training starts July 27 and runs through Nov. 13, 2015 at the Lebanon Community Hospital Health Careers Training Center and the LBCC Lebanon Center. Skill areas covered in the training include medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, customer service, medical law and ethics, and phlebotomy theory and technique.  Cost for the program is $5,500. LBCC Polysomnographic Technology Free Information Sessions

Free information sessions for those interested in becoming a Polysomnographic Technologist, or sleep technician, will be held at Linn-Benton Community College. January sessions will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, 9-11 a.m., and Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1-3 p.m.  Additional sessions will be held on Monday, Feb. 9, 10 a.m.-noon, Wednesday, February 11, 11-1 p.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1-3 p.m. All information sessions will be at the Albany campus in the Calapooia Center, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany, OR. 97321. Attendance at one of the information sessions is mandatory before applying for the program. Polysomnographic Technologists assist physicians with patients who have sleep disorders such as sleep apnea. The program combines online and in-class instruction with a clinical practicum where students learn how to administer, score and interpret a variety of sleep disorders and their treatments. LBCC is offering two free Pharmacy Technician Program pre-application information sessions for those interested in training to work as a Pharmacy Technician. The sessions will be held Tuesday, October 28 from 9-11:00 AM, and Wednesday, November 5 from 2-4 PM at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany, OR 97321. No need to preregister to attend. Attendance at the information session is mandatory in order to take the program. The 18-week Pharmacy Technician Program starts Feb. 2 and runs through June 5, 2015. Blood Draw Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed for Linn-Benton Community College phlebotomy program’s annual public blood draw to help students meet their blood draw quotas before going to work at clinical sites. Blood draws will be held Monday, Sept. 22 and Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the LBCC Lebanon Center, room 153, 44 Industrial Way. No need to register. LBCC Veterinary Assistant Information Sessions

Four free Veterinary Assistant Program information sessions will be held at Linn-Benton Community College in September and October for those interested in training to become a Veterinary Assistant. These pre-application sessions will be held Wednesday, September 17, 10 a.m.- noon; Tuesday, October 7, 1-3 p.m.; Thursday, October 16, 11 a.m-1 p.m.; and Tuesday, October 21, noon-2 p.m. at the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center, room CC-212. Attendance at one information session is mandatory in order to take the program. No preregistration needed to attend. The 17-week LBCC Veterinary Assistant Program starts Jan. 5 and runs through May 1, 2015. Skill areas covered include basic education and experience in common disease states, commonly used medical and surgical techniques, and an introduction to hospital management, business procedures and radiation safety.   Cost for the program is $5,000.  The sessions will be held Monday, Oct. 28, from 9 to 11 a.m.; and Tuesday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the LBCC Lebanon Center, 44 Industrial Way. 

No need to pre-register to attend the session. Attendance at the session is mandatory in order to take the program.
