Polysomnographic Technology Free Information Sessions

Three free information sessions for those interested in becoming a Polysomnographic Technologist , or sleep technician, will be held at Linn-Benton Community College. Sessions will be held Jan. 31 from 1-3 p.m., Feb. 13 from 10 a.m.-Noon, and Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Calapooia Center building, room CC-210, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. Attendance at one of the information sessions is mandatory before applying for the program. Polysomnographic Technologists assist physicians with patients who have sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea. The program combines online and in-class instruction with a clinical practicum where students learn how to administer, score and interpret a variety of sleep disorders and their treatments. LBCC Pharmacy Technician Information Sessions

LBCC is offering two free Pharmacy Technician Program pre-application information sessions for those interested in training to work as a Pharmacy Technician. Information session dates will be on Tuesday, June 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again on Monday, Oct. 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, conference rooms B/C. No need to register to attend. Attendance at one of the sessions is mandatory in order to take the program. The 17-week Pharmacy Technician Program will be offered starting February 6, 2012 through June 8, 2012. Skill areas covered in the training include customer service, pharmacy math, pharmacy laws and rules, pharmaceutical vocabulary, prescriptions, billing, insurance, industry software, pharmacology and on the job training.
