Polysomnographic Technology Free Information Sessions

Three free information sessions for those interested in becoming a Polysomnographic Technologist, or sleep technician, will be held at Linn-Benton Community College.

Sessions will be held Jan. 31 from 1-3 p.m., Feb. 13 from 10 a.m.-Noon, and Feb. 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Calapooia Center building, room CC-210, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.

Attendance at one of the information sessions is mandatory before applying for the program.

Polysomnographic Technologists assist physicians with patients who have sleep disorders, such as sleep apnea. The program combines online and in-class instruction with a clinical practicum where students learn how to administer, score and interpret a variety of sleep disorders and their treatments.

The program starts June 24 and runs through March 21, 2014. Cost for the program is $8,000. Check the LBCC web site for program prerequisites at www.linnbenton.edu/go/forms.
