Gallery Reception for Four Northwest Artists

A public reception and gallery hosting four Willamette Valley artists whose work is on display in the North Santiam Hall Gallery at Linn-Benton Community College will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, from noon to 1 p.m. in the NSH second floor atrium, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. 

Eugene sketchbook artist Ken O’Connell and Salem painter John Van Dreal share the NSH gallery walls with multi-media artist Shelley Jordon and photographer Julia Bradshaw, who are both faculty at Oregon State University in Corvallis.

In addition, O’Connell will lead a workshop at 2 p.m. Wednesday on the use of sketchbooks in the art and design process in the Fireside Room, second floor of the Calapooia Center building.

The artists will be exhibiting on both floors of the NSH Gallery through March 1. Gallery hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays.

Learn a foreign language in classes offered through Community Education at Linn-Benton Community College starting April 4. Spanish for Seniors focuses on conversational Spanish with essential words, songs and phrases to help you get ready to travel more confidently in Spanish speaking countries. Learn past, present, and future verb tenses. Some previous Spanish experience recommended. This eight-week class meets Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:50 p.m. starting April 4 at the Albany Senior Center, 44 Water Ave. Cost is $65. American Sign Language I provides basic sign language skills and information on deaf culture.
