Learn to cook soups, stews and all things chocolate in cooking classes offered through LBCC Community Education this winter. Classic Soups and Stews covers classic soups such as chicken noodle, tomato, clam chowder and beef, pork, hominy and butternut stews. This two-week class meets Thursdays from 6 to 8:50 p.m. starting January 18 at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW. Cost is $69. In the class All Things Chocolate, learn to cut, melt and temper chocolate to make Ganache, truffles and a variety of chocolate desserts, garnishes and confections. Class meets Saturday, February 10 from 12 to 4:50 p.m. at LBCC Albany campus. Cost is $69. Learn how to make sausage, decorate a cake or cook Moroccan food in classes held this fall at Linn-Benton Community College. The nine-week Cake Decorating class will meet Mondays from 6:30 to 8:20 p.m. starting Sept. 30 at the Albany Senior Center, 44 Water Ave.  Learn simple techniques to get professional looking results. Cost is $69 with a $7 supply fee. The three-week Hint of Morocco cooking class will meet Fridays from 6 to 8:50 p.m. starting Oct. 4 at the Albany Senior Center. Learn how to make several types of Moroccan dishes. Cost is $39 with a $40 supply fee. In the one-day Making Sausage class, learn skills and techniques to make your own sausage. Choose from Saturday, Oct. 12 or Sunday, Oct. 13 class. Both classes meet from 1 to 5:50 p.m. at the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center, room CC-219. Cost is $39 with a $40 supply fee.
