LBCC Benton Center property purchase completed
Linn-Benton Community College has completed the purchase of property to expand the Benton Center in Corvallis, and plans to begin a community-involved process of creating plans for that expansion. “Now we can begin to plan earnestly,” said Jeff Davis, Benton Center Director. “We have community members serving on the project steering committee, and we’ll be looking for other ways to allow for community engagement in the process.” The project will add 20,000 square feet of instruction spaces and more than double parking to more than 250 spaces to help address shortages in both areas that restrict offerings at the center. The new property is located just north of the Benton Center. The specific timeline for project to begin still depends on finding an acceptable new location for the Corvallis operation of First Student, Inc.
