Free lunchtime series start April 3 in Lebanon

A free lunch and learn series and a free gardening series will be held this spring through Linn-Benton Community College’s Lebanon Center.  Lunch and Learn Series will be held Mondays from 12:30 to 1:50 p.m. starting April 3 at the Lebanon Senior Center, 80 Tangent St. A new topic will be presented each week. Cosponsored by LBCC and the Senior Center. Gardening in the PNW will help you sharpen your gardening skills and discover new techniques. Taught by OSU-trained Master Gardeners, a different topic will be covered each week. Class meets Thursdays from Noon-12:50 p.m. starting April 6 at the LBCC Lebanon Center, 44 Industrial Way. LBCC Sweet Home Center Free Gardening in the Pacific NW Series

A free eight-week "Gardening in the Pacific Northwest” brown bag series will meet at the LBCC Sweet Home Center on Thursdays from Noon to 1 p.m. beginning Jan. 12. Topics include "Multiplying Plants for Free with Divisions & Seeds" with Brenda Winslow; "All about Herbs!" with Carol Small; "Tough, Water-Wise Plants that Thrive in the Shade" with Kathy Clark; "Change Up Your Landscape with a Pond" with Joel Shonnard; "Gardening 101" with Steve Naberhuis; "Xeriscaping: Conserving Water Through Creative Landscaping" with Paul Westerberg; "Things to do This Winter to Reduce Pest & Disease Problems in your Garden" with Richard Little; and "The Dirt on Composting" with Michael Resseguie. This brown bag series will meet Jan. 12, 19, 26, Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23 and March 1. For more information, contact the LBCC Sweet Home Center at 541-367-6901.
