Free Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions Class

A free workshop “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions Self Management Program” will be held at the Linn-Benton Community College’s Lebanon Center starting Jan. 7. This six-week workshop is for people with ongoing health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, emphysema, heart conditions, high blood pressure, MS and other chronic health conditions. Participants will meet Tuesdays from 12:30 to 2:50 p.m. beginning Jan. 7 at the LBCC Lebanon Center, 44 Industrial Way. Pre-registration is required by calling Carole Kment at 541-451-6566 or by email at ckment@samhealth.org.  Co-sponsored with Samaritan health Services in partnership with Linn and Benton County Health Departments.

Free Diabetes Symposium

A free Diabetes Symposium will be held at Linn-Benton Community College on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. in the Commons cafeteria, second floor of the Calapooia Center, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW., Albany. Diabetes experts will present information on self-management, and a product fair will feature diabetes equipment, services and free healthy snacks. Co-sponsored by LBCC Albany Community Education and Samaritan Health Services, the symposium is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged. Space is limited. LBCC Holds Free Diabetes Symposium

A free Diabetes Symposium will be held at Linn-Benton Community College on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Commons cafeteria, second floor of the Calapooia Center, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW., Albany. Diabetes experts will present information on self-management, and a product fair will feature diabetes equipment, services and free healthy snacks. Keynote speakers include Dr. Sarah Swarts with Samaritan Internal Medicine; Jay Hewitt , an athlete who became the first person with diabetes to qualify for the U.S. National Triathlon team; and Monica Whipple, certified Arthritis Foundation instructor.  The symposium is free and open to the public and co-sponsored by LBCC Albany Community Education and Samaritan Health Services . LBCC 28th Annual Free Diabetes Symposium

The 28th annual free Diabetes Symposium workshop will be held at Linn-Benton Community College on Saturday, April 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Calapooia Center, Commons cafeteria, second floor, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW., Albany. This year’s theme is “Finding Your Way: Directions to Better Health.” Join the experts as they present the latest diabetes information and conduct educational sessions. The symposium will feature a product fair featuring diabetes equipment and services, and free healthy snacks. Keynote speakers will be Dr. David Calder with the Diabetes Wellness Assessment Program, and Adrienne Ewanchyna, owner of Indulgence Personal Chef Services. Dr. Calder developed the Diabetes Wellness Center in Eugene, and was a cofounder of the Lane County Diabetes Association. He also served as a consultant for the Oregon Research Institute. Lebanon Center Free Workshop Living Well with Chronic Conditions

A free workshop on the Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions Self Management Program will be held at the LBCC Lebanon Center starting Feb. 15. This six-week workshop is designed for people with ongoing health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, emphysema, heart conditions, high blood pressure, MS, and other conditions. Participants will meet on Tuesdays starting Feb. 15 from 1 p.m. to 3:20 p.m. at LBCC Lebanon Center at 44 Industrial Way. There is no charge for the workshop or accompanying book "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions." Pre-registration is required.
