LBCC Real Estate Property Manager Course

A Real Estate Property Manager course will be offered through Linn-Benton Community College beginning April 7. Designed to prepare you to manage rental property, this course combines online and in-class instruction to meet the 60-hour requirement for the Oregon Property Manager Pre-License course. This seven-week class will meet on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning April 7 through May 19 at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd SW in room CC-212. Cost for this non-credit course is $550. This 10-week course will meet on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning April 6th through June 8 at LBCC’s Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd SW in room CC-212. The course content will be mostly Internet based. Students are expected to have online capability, to self-study and attend all class sessions. A mandatory study session will be held on Saturday, the last day of the class. Cost for this non-credit course is $600. BES Faculty Joseph Bailey Completes Voice Dialogue Facilitator Training

Joseph Bailey, LBCC faculty member in Business and Employer Services, recently completed a 69-hour training program as a Voice Dialogue Facilitator through the Voice Dialogue Institute. Facilitated social technology allows individuals to become more effective in their relationships, and can help teams to achieve higher levels of performance and leverage their strengths to move beyond places where they get stuck. LBCC Business and Employer Services provides coaching, facilitation, training, and consulting services to employers of Linn and Benton County. LBCC Professional Development Workshops

The professional development series “Developing World Class Employees” will be offered by Linn-Benton Community College Business and Employer Services. Spring workshops include: March 17, The Professional Strategies of Persuasion and Influence; April 21, Essential Skills for the New Supervisor; May 12, Guiding Employee Performance and Recognizing Positive Results; May 19, Creating a Respectful Workplace; June 16, Building a Self-Reliant Workplace. Forklift Safety Training will be offered through Business and Employer Services at Linn-Benton Community College on Saturday, March 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the LBCC Albany Campus, IC-103, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. This eight-hour Forklift Safety training fulfills OR-OSHA Guidelines for Safe Operating Practice. 
This course will provide four hours of classroom training and four hours of practice on the forklift. Training includes forklift safety, handling and moving loads, principles of lifting, stacking and un-stacking loads and driving with a load. Upon completion of eight hours of training and meeting the requirements, student will receive an award of completion to take to their current or future employer. LBCC Offers Wildland Firefighting Training

Basic Wildland Firefighting Training will be offered through Linn-Benton Community College starting April 25 at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 SW Pacific Blvd. This five-day class is designed to provide entry-level firefighter skills and includes a full day of field training. Class instructor is certified with the National Wildfire Suppression Association. Learn to assist in the suppression of wildfires including digging firelines, removing fuels, laying hoses and how to provide assistance in national emergencies. Course curriculum meets or exceeds the National Wildfire Coordinating Group 310-1 requirements. Participants must be 18 years of age or older, in good physical condition and must have two forms of government-issued identification. Class size is limited. Register early. Business Faculty Joseph Bailey Recertified as Certified Professional Facilitator

Joseph Bailey, instructor for Linn-Benton Community College Business and Employer Services, earned his recertification as a Certified Professional Facilitator from the International Association of Facilitators. 

 Bailey was one of the first professional facilitators certified in the state of Oregon. The designation of CPF is the only international assessment process that is based on rigorous peer review of knowledge, experience and demonstration of skills. LBCC LMT Workshop

The workshop “Hand, Wrist and Elbow” for Licensed Massage Therapists will be held Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Linn-Benton Community College’s Business and Employer Services . Learn to identify and address specific issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow and hyper-mobility issues. Includes hands-on, integrated understanding of how myofascial restrictions affect the functional mechanics of the hand, wrist and elbow.
