LBCC Professional Development Workshops

LBCC Business and Employer Services is offering the following workshops in May and June, part of the “Developing World Class Employees” series.

All workshops held at the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center building, room CC-211, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW. 

Giving and Receiving Feedback will be held May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon. Feedback is a critical supervisory skill and, like most learned skills, our effectiveness can be improved with practice. In this interactive workshop, learn specific ways to take advantage of opportunities to give and receive feedback and ways to enhance coworkers’ performance by providing them with specific, timely feedback.

Finance for Non-Finance Managers held May 9, 8 a.m. to noon. Have you ever wished you understood the numbers better? Do you have a desire to improve your communication with the accountants and financial managers at your firm or workplace? Learn financial awareness, a key success factor in your career, including understanding income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, net income versus cash flow, common financial ratios and aging schedules.

Creating a Positive Work Environment held May 15, 8 a.m. to noon. Explore the 85:15 ratio and the power of attitude, the five elements of organizational culture, ways to assess the health of workplace environment, key job satisfiers, and attitudes in action.

Communicating When You Want to Avoid It: Difficult Conversations held June 3, 8 a.m. to noon. Learn methods for having difficult conversations in ways that are constructive for everyone involved, and take away a practical process that you can use for any difficult conversation.
