LBCC Earth Day Celebration coming April 21
LBCC will hold an Earth Day Celebration Thursday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the college courtyard, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. Activities include flowerpot planting with flowers donated by Peoria Gardens, recycling station for your old shoes, tours of the organic farm, mushroom inoculation demonstration, recycled metal art sale, Earth Day t-shirt sale and more! Wear your favorite hippie garb to the “Dress Like a Hippie” contest. Sign-ups start at 11:30 a.m., contest starts at 12:15 p.m. on the courtyard stage. Have lunch at the “Earth Day Café” for just $5, $4 for students. Learn about alternative energy, therapeutic horticulture, natural resource conservation, native plants, recycling, worm composting, plastics in our oceans, LBCC green campus programs, international efforts, green careers and programs and more.
