Linn-Benton Community College earned a top-ten ranking from the Center for Digital Education, tying for fourth place across the nation. The center's annual Digital Community Colleges Survey asks community colleges across the country to share their education tech initiatives. LBCC's Admission and Registration office was recognized for its work using Laserfiche processing and Infusionsoft communications programs to help streamline processes and communicate with students more efficiently. The Laserfiche program helped the college streamline its transcript evaluation process, cutting evaluation turn-around time from an average of six to eight weeks down to one week. Students receive automatic email notifications when their transcripts have been received and evaluated. Laserfiche is also used to find un-evaluated transcripts from students who have scheduled new student orientations, adding the transcript to an “urgent” folder and notifying staff of the need to evaluate them.
