Spring Light: Readings and Other Delicacies will be held at the LBCC Benton Center Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the center lobby, 757 NW Polk Street, Corvallis.  This event is a benefit fundraiser for the LBCC English Scholarship/Program Endowment supporting student scholarships, student writing and enrichment and visiting authors. Enjoy readings by LBCC’s English department faculty and students, and a no‑host bar of wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, savory treats and desserts. The Valley Writers Series at Linn-Benton Community College will hold a silent art auction April 1-26 to benefit the series.  The auction, held in the South Santiam Hall conference room on the Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW., will include fine art pieces donated by local supporters. Paper bids will be accepted through April 19, with the final week of bidding held online at tinyurl.com/VWSSAA beginning Monday, April 22 and concluding Friday, April 26 at 8 p.m. Sponsored by LBCC’s English Department, the free Valley Writers Series exists to connect beginning writers with professional writers and to stimulate creative writing among area students, to enhance literary awareness in our community and to encourage Oregon writers.    For more than 25 years, the series has hosted prominent regional and national authors to give presentations, workshops and readings on campus to students and community members.
