The LBCC Board of Education voted Wednesday to approve a tuition rate increase of 6 percent for both in-state and out-of-state, and 8 percent for international, effective summer term 2016. The increase will be used to help cover current program expenses, expand services, and help develop an ending fund balance of 10 percent. After two years without an increase, the projection for future tuition increases includes a 5 percent increase next year, and 3 percent annual increases after that. In-state tuition for 2016-17 school year will be $99.43 per credit hour, up from $93.80. Out-of-state tuition will be $231.12, up from $214, and international tuition will be $282.02, up from $251.80. LBCC Student Named to Junior College Livestock Judging All American Team

Linn-Benton Community College agricultural major Lindsey McPeake has been named to the 2015-16 Junior College Livestock Judging All American Team.  The award recognizes the top 15 judging students in the nation and is based on the student’s judging ability and academic GPA.  McPeake, from Bend, has a 3.63 GPA and will graduate in June with an associate’s degree in agricultural business management . She is the first member of LBCC’s Livestock Judging Team to be named to the Junior College All American Team, which takes into account contest results from competitions in Kansas City, Louisville, Denver and Houston. McPeake plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in agriculture business management.
