Mark Majeski Named Athletic Director

Mark Majeski Mark Majeski has been named athletic director of the Linn-Benton Community College Athletic department.  Majeski is replacing Randy Falk, who retired June 30 after serving 26 years as the men’s basketball coach and athletic director.  Majeski begins his duties July 16. Majeski brings 20 years of experience working in collegiate athletics, with 16 years as athletic director, serving at Willamette University from 2000 to 2011, and at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He also served as head women’s basketball coach at while at UC Santa Cruz, and was head softball coach for Menlo College. Majeski is founder of Majeski Athletic Consulting, which helps colleges and universities leverage athletics to support institutional missions and goals. Free “Play Day” for kids April 8

A free “Play Day” for area youth in grades K-5th will be held Saturday, April 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Linn-Benton Community College’s Activities Center gym, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany. "Play Day" offers several games and activities for kids and families, in the spirit of promoting health and wellness. Children can play basketball, volleyball, and other sports with LBCC student-athletes. Outdoor sports include soccer, croquet, and a version of quidditch, the broom-riding sport from the Harry Potter novels. Families can walk along the LBCC Wellness Trail in 1K and 2.5K routes. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Event is sponsored by the LBCC Athletics Department. For more information, contact Michael Winder, 541-917-4561. LBCC Announces Promotion for Coach Randy Falk

Coach Randy Falk After 25 years of leading Linn-Benton Community College Men's Basketball and serving as LBCC’s athletic director in a part-time capacity, Randy Falk has been promoted to the position of athletic director on a full-time basis. Falk’s focus for LBCC’s Athletic Department will continue to be on student academic success, competitive excellence and community outreach and engagement. Assistant coach Everett Hartman will assume the role of interim head basketball coach for the 2016-17 season.
