LBCC Offers Wildland Firefighting Training

Basic Wildland Firefighting Training will be offered through Linn-Benton Community College starting April 25 at the LBCC Albany campus, 6500 SW Pacific Blvd.

This five-day class is designed to provide entry-level firefighter skills and includes a full day of field training. Class instructor is certified with the National Wildfire Suppression Association.

Learn to assist in the suppression of wildfires including digging firelines, removing fuels, laying hoses and how to provide assistance in national emergencies.

Course curriculum meets or exceeds the National Wildfire Coordinating Group 310-1 requirements. Participants must be 18 years of age or older, in good physical condition and must have two forms of government-issued identification. Class size is limited. Register early.

Class meets April 25, 26, 27 and May 3 and 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the LBCC Albany Campus, Calapooia Center, 2nd floor room CC-211.

Cost for this non-credit course is $285 and includes all materials. It is recommended that you complete IS-700 online course prior to starting class.
