LBCC Holds Free Diabetes Symposium
A free Diabetes Symposium will be held at Linn-Benton Community College on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Commons cafeteria, second floor of the Calapooia Center, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW., Albany.
Diabetes experts will present information on self-management, and a product fair will feature diabetes equipment, services and free healthy snacks.
Keynote speakers include Dr. Sarah Swarts with Samaritan Internal Medicine; Jay Hewitt, an athlete who became the first person with diabetes to qualify for the U.S. National Triathlon team; and Monica Whipple, certified Arthritis Foundation instructor.
The symposium is free and open to the public and co-sponsored by LBCC Albany Community Education and Samaritan Health Services. Pre-registration is encouraged. Space is limited.
