High school “Improv Smackdown” May 26, 7:30 p.m.
High school improv troupes from Albany and Corvallis will compete in LBCC’s second “Improv Smackdown” Friday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Russell Tripp Performance Center, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.
Students from South Albany, West Albany, Corvallis, and Crescent Valley high schools will exchange knee-slappers and gut-busters in a four-way, semi-competitive showcase of improv comedy. Teams use audience suggestions to create scenes and "compete" for your laughter and applause.
Teams are also playing for local human societies: South Albany and West Albany are playing for SafeHaven Human Society, Corvallis and Crescent Valley are playing for Heartland Humane Society. $1 from each ticket sold will go to the respective charity, based on how many fans each school brings.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online at linnbenton.edu/tickets, or in the Russell Tripp theater box office one hour before the show.
When purchasing your tickets, state which school you support, or "all of the above,” which splits the donation for both charities. The school that raises the most money gets bragging rights until next year.
For more information, contact the box office at 541-917-4531. For disability accommodations, call 541-917-4789 or via Oregon Relay TDD at 1-800-735-2900.
