50 Years in the Making: LBCC Foundation

Linn-Benton Community College’s Foundation was established in 1972, just five years after the college began, and has provided resources to support student success and program excellence ever since.

Last year, the LBCC Foundation granted more than $360,000 in student scholarships and more than $1 million in program support, thanks to the generosity of our donors.

So many in our communities have either attended LBCC, have friends and family who have attended or know of businesses that hire LBCC graduates. 

As LBCC approaches its 50th Commencement in June, it’s likely that some of the first LBCC graduates will be attending their child’s – or perhaps even their grandchild’s – graduation from LBCC.

You can help inspire the next generation of LBCC graduates. Your gift to the LBCC Foundation makes all the difference in the lives of students and the communities we serve.

LBCC Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. The course is required for CCB licensing as part of the education requirement before taking the State of Oregon CCB exam. Participants are required to attend all five of the state-approved sessions to satisfy the educational requirement for Oregon contractor licensing. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. For sample interview questions and tips, check out the college web site at www.linnbenton.edu/go/career-fair and click “Job Seeker Links.” Employment, training and family needs agencies will be on hand to inform job seekers about their services. Community Art classes in Albany, Corvallis, and Lebanon

A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence. This one-day class meets Thursday, April 7 from 1 to 3:50 p.m. at the LBCC Lebanon Center, 44 Industrial Way, and Friday, April 15 from 1 to 3:50 p.m. at the LBCC Benton Center, 757 Polk Ave, Corvallis, and Saturday, April 16 from 10 to 12:50 p.m. at the LBCC Albany Campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW. Cost is $39. The new class “Mosaic Mashup” helps you create a mosaic masterpiece from recycled materials. Incorporate paper, glass tiles, ceramic tiles, and a wide selection of other materials.
