Lebanon Center & Sweet Home Center Art Classes

A variety of art classes are being offered at the LBCC Lebanon and Sweet Home Centers during spring term beginning the week of April 2.

The class "Watercolor Foundations" provides instruction on materials, techniques and tricks to prepare you to paint successfully. This eight-week class will meet on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:50 p.m. beginning April 4 at the LBCC Lebanon Center, 44 Industrial Way. Class is also offered at the Brownsville Art Association Studio, 255 Main Street, from 6 to 8:20 p.m. beginning April 5. Cost for the class is $69 plus a $3 lab fee.

Learn the basic techniques of oil painting in the seven-week class “Oil Painting Workshop" held at the Lebanon Center from 1 to 3:50 p.m. beginning April 5. Designed for beginning or intermediate students, class will cover perspective, color mixing, landscapes, seascapes, portraits, animals or whatever you wish to paint. Cost for this class is $79 plus a $5 fee.

In the class "Calligraphy," class will learn the formal italic lettering system, including the use of inks, pens and paper. This 10-week class will meet on Tuesdays from 1 to 3:20 p.m. beginning April 3 at the LBCC Sweet Home Center, 1661 Long St. Cost is $76.50 plus a $5 lab fee.

A 10-week "Clay-Open Studio" class will be offered at the Sweet Home Center beginning Tuesday, April 3 from 6 to 8:50 p.m. Increase your skills and comfort with clay as you create a self-inspired project using the potter's wheel or hand-building techniques. Firing and glazes included. Class is designed for beginners. Cost is $84 plus a $5 lab fee.
