Community Ed Computer Classes Spring Term
A variety of computer classes will be offered spring term through Community Education at Linn-Benton Community College, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.
Excel I offers the basics of Microsoft's spreadsheet program, including the construction of formulas for math calculations, sorting, and basic functions for personal or professional use. Basic computer skills are required. This three-week class is held Tuesdays, starting March 29 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
Excel II is for students familiar with the basics, you will learn more functions, charts, adding comments and more. Basic computer skills are a required. This three-week class is held Tuesdays starting April 26 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
Excel III includes information on protecting your worksheets, advanced function use, integrating with other programs and templates. Basic computer skills are a required. This three-week class is held Tuesdays starting May 17 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
Mac Essentials I helps you learn to understand the essential elements of the Mac operating system, discover the basic layout of OS X, and learn tips and shortcuts for navigating your computer, as well as the basics of word processing and printing. This three-week class is held on Mondays starting March 28 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
Mac Essentials II continues with productivity applications like contacts, calendar, mail, and Safari (internet). This three-week class is held Mondays starting April 18 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
Mac Essentials III reached the essentials of iPhoto and iCloud and how to back up your computer with Time Machine. This three-week class is held Mondays starting May 9 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
Personal Computer Essentials I is designed to go at an easy pace. Includes identifying the various parts of the computer, how to turn it on and off and use the mouse and keyboard. Also introduces working with Windows 7, and a brief intro to email and the Internet. This three-week class is held Mondays starting March 28 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $49.
Personal Computer Essentials II helps you learn how to surf the web using an internet search engine. Setup an e-mail account, draft and send an e-mail to a family member. Explore Facebook to find and connect with far away friends. Finally, learn tips and tricks for keeping your computer safe and virus free. This three-week class is held Mondays starting April 18 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $49.
Personal Computer Essentials III play your own CD's, or download play digital music. Play DVD's on your PC, and learn stream helpful "how to" YouTube videos. Use your computer to upload, organize, and edit photos from your phone or camera. Finally, share your photos with friends and family online. This three-week class is held Mondays starting May 9 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $49.
The new class Buying and Selling on EBay lets you explore shopping options and popular marketplace services while learning to create ads to attract buyers and other strategies to get results and protect yourself as both buyer and seller. This three-week class is held Tuesdays starting March 29 from 6 to 7:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
The new class Google Apps for You helps you learn to organize, collaborate and communicate with Google gmail, calendar, drive, voice and more. Improve utilization of docs, spreadsheets, presentations and forms for business and/or personal needs in this hands-on course. This two-week class is held Tuesdays starting April 19 from 5 to 6:50 p.m. Cost is $59.
