Parenting Success Network Now Available in Spanish
The Parenting Success Network website is now available in Spanish as well as English, thanks to the
generosity of the Greater Albany Public Schools, which contributed many hours
to make the translation possible.
The network website is a
“one-stop shop” that brings together local information and resources to make
parenting easier for families in Linn and Benton counties. The site includes information
about parenting education opportunities, a calendar of classes and events, descriptions
and links to family serving agencies and a blog where new parenting tips are
posted weekly.
The site, found at www.parentingsuccessnetwork.org,
also includes information for parenting educators. The same information, as
well as parenting advice, also is available by calling 541-917-4899.
The network is working to boost
parents’ awareness of their services this fall through billboards sporting
catchy phrases and humorous pictures. Two boards will be displayed for a month
along Hwy 34 and two will be on Pacific Blvd, with one board in Spanish.
Posters and bookmarks marketing
the website also are now available in both English and Spanish. New for this
year, the posters include the “Find us on Facebook” icon and a QR code so
people with smart phones can connect directly to the website. Posters and
bookmarks are available for distribution and can be obtained by contacting Cyrel
Gable at Cyrel.gable@linnbenton.edu or 541-917-4909.
The Parenting Success Network is
a coalition of organizations dedicated to expanding and coordinating parenting
education in the Linn-Benton region. In addition to creating easy access to
parenting information through the website and phone line, network partners
collaborate to make more parenting education classes and workshops available.
The project is funded by a grant
from the Oregon Parenting Education Collaborative, which includes The Collins
Foundation, The Ford Family Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust, Oregon Community
Foundation and Oregon State University. It is facilitated by LBCC’s Parenting
Education Department.
