Two Linn-Benton Community College students have been named to the Oregon Community College Association All Oregon Academic Team.
Alyssa Stillian of Corvallis and Eric Slyter of Albany will be honored at a luncheon with the governor at the State Capitol April 17.
Stillian, a mechanical engineering major and active member of LBCC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, participates in the college ROV Club and tutor’s math at the college.
Slyter, a chemistry major and active member of LBCC Phi Theta Kappa, is president of LBCC Student Leadership Council, a member of the College Coach team and tutor’s science at the college.
Both students will receive a plaque from the OCCA and a $1,000 scholarship from the university they plan to attend to complete their bachelor’s degrees.
The Oregon Community College Association, in partnership with Phi Theta Kappa, yearly recognizes outstanding students from Oregon’s 17 community colleges through the All-Oregon Academic Team awards. Students selected become eligible for more than $350,000 in Coca-Cola Foundation and USA Today scholarships.
