LBCC Driver Ed classes start September 19

Driver Education classes held through Linn-Benton Community College will start September 19.

According to statistics, students who take Driver Education are far less likely to get into an accident than those who don't. LBCC Driver’s Ed courses are highly popular for teens ages 15-17 preparing to apply for a driver’s license.

The course includes Oregon State mandated 30 hours of classroom instruction, a three-hour parent/student orientation at first meeting plus 12 hours behind-the wheel practice and driver observation.

Upon successful completion of the course, students under the age of 18 may qualify for a car skills testing waiver when obtaining their driver’s license.

Classes will be held in Albany and Lebanon. Cost is $265 for ages 17 and under, $445 for ages 18 and over. Register early, space is limited.

Registration requirements include completed packet, fee and original driver permit to be presented upon registration. Registration packets are available at all centers or online at www.linnbenton.edu/driver-education.
