LBCC Seeking Applicants for Board of Education Vacancy

The Linn-Benton Community College Board of Education is seeking applicants to fill a board vacancy for the position of Zone 6-7.

Zone 6-7 includes Corvallis and some of the surrounding areas. Applicants must live within the zone to be considered. The person appointed would serve the remainder of the position’s term, through June 30, 2017.

Application materials, including detail on what the Board seeks in a successful applicant, are available online at www.linnbenton.edu/boardapplication, or by contacting Amanda Kliever, 541-917-4204 or email at klievea@linnbenton.edu.

Applications will be accepted starting Feb. 29 through March 31, 2016.

Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Education Executive Committee in early April, and then forwarded to all members of the Board of Education for consideration at the April 20 Board meeting. If the Board decides it would like to interview a candidate, the interview would take place at a subsequent Board meeting.

In addition, the Board is especially interested in increasing the diversity of the Board and strengthening the relationship between LBCC and the City of Corvallis through this appointment.

Applicants must be able to commit to upholding and abiding by LBCC Policies as they pertain to the Board, especially the LBCC Board of Education Code of Conduct. These policies and Code of Conduct can be found at: http://po.linnbenton.edu/BPsandARs

The Board plans to select a candidate to fill the vacancy no later than its regular board meeting May 18.
