Fall Physical Science Speaker Series

The Fall Physical Science Speakers Series will be held each Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at Linn-Benton Community College in Madrone Hall, room MH-113, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.

The talks are free and open to the public, and will cover a variety of topics in physics and earth science.

 “Robotics, Volcanoes and Crushing MIT” will be the first talk in the series, presented by LBCC’s Remotely Operated Vehicle Team Wednesday, Oct. 10 at noon.

Wednesday, October 17: Mindi Hartzlett-Jones, Elia DeJesus, and Angela Clegg: “LBCC Student Undergraduate Research Experiences: Streams to sediment cores”

Wednesday, October 24: Dr. Jim O’Connor, US Geological Survey, “The Missoula Floods”

Wednesday, October 31: TBA

Wednesday, November 7: Craig Risien, College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, Oregon State University, “The Ocean Observing Initiative”

Wednesday, November 14: Jon Edwards, College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences, Oregon State University, “Ice Core Science: What bubbles in ice can tell us about climate”
