LBCC Announces $90k Parenting Success Network Grant

Linn-Benton Community College announced that it received a third year of funding to support the Parenting Success Network in Linn and Benton counties, a collaborative project facilitated by the college.

The $90,000 grant from the Oregon Parenting EducationCollaborative is part of a new multi-year initiative developed by The Oregon Community Foundation in partnership with the Meyer Memorial Trust, The FordFamily Foundation, The Collins Foundation and Oregon State University.

Established to increase public acceptance of the importance of parenting education, the Parenting Success Network helps coordinate and improve the quality of parenting services, enhance accessibility of information regarding services and positive parenting, and provides training and resources for parenting educators.

Currently, there are 11 parenting success grant projects around the state, and one in Siskiyou County in Northern California. The project grant extends from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, and will be eligible to apply for an additional $60,000 in funding for next year.
