North Santiam Hall Gallery exhibits "Esteem: Artists and Mentors"

The North Santiam Gallery at Linn-Benton Community College features “Esteem: Artists & Mentors,” a collaborative exhibition with nine pairs of artists and mentors presenting artwork and statements on display through March 8.

Participating artists include Georgiana Nehl, Linnea Solveig, Barb Tetenbaum, Amy Lund, Chelsea Couch, Tannaz Farsi, Richard Rowland, Jan Sheild, Cara Tomlinson, Elizabeth Magee, Nathan Prouty, Kaitlyn Getz, Susan Murrell, Addie DeLong, Ying Tan, Craig Hickman, Palmarin Merges and Carla Javier Brea.

The exhibition is dedicated to the impact that individuals have on each other’s artistic journeys. Esteem consists of paired artists who chose each other to validate the influences, contributions, and support they gave one another.

Unique style, medium, concept and subject provide the audience a glimpse into the choices artists make every day when creating their artistic identities.

Written statements from the paired individuals give insight as to why they chose one another, making for a truly unique exhibition for the viewer.

An artist reception will be held Wednesday, January 31 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the NSH Gallery.

LBCC gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
