LBCC North Santiam Hall Gallery exhibits four Portland area artists

Monotype print by Nanette Wallace
Four Portland area artists are featured in the “PDX Fall Exhibition” show at Linn-Benton Community College’s North Santiam Hall Gallery through December 1.

Portland artists Beth Yazhari, Nanette Wallace, Jackie Avery and Kirista Trask display a wide variety of skill, subject and medium in this must-see exhibition.

A reception and artist talk will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1 in the gallery. Light refreshments will be provided.

Yazhari created vibrant arrangements of mixed media on dark wood panels. The balance in her compositions reflect her eye for detail. Wallace narrows her focus to monotype prints, featuring portraits of late-in-life individuals and capturing the nostalgia of childhood. Wallace plans to give a brief demonstration of her processes during the reception.

Avery works with the classic medium of acrylic paint on wood, and includes text and rich color, creating thoughtful pieces. Trask’s charming paintings surge with energetic movement, seemingly coming to life and hardly contained by the frame.

LBCC Art Galleries are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
