Specialty fitness focuses on strength and bone health for adults

Reap the benefits of the OSU Bone Research Lab in the class “Better Bones and Balance” offered in Albany, Corvallis and Lebanon through LBCC Community Education starting June 27.

The partnership between OSU Bone Research Lab and Linn-Benton Community College’s Better Bones and Balance fitness class brings certified instructors to this exercise program that has been shown to slow the rate of bone loss in adults of all ages, improve balance and coordination, and reduce risk for falls. Many have seen a noticeable increase in muscle tone and overall body fitness.

Albany:
MWF for 10 weeks from 7 to 7:50 a.m. or 8 to 8:50 a.m. starting June 27 at the Cool Swanson Center in Albany.

MW for 10 weeks starting from 9:15 to 10:05 a.m. starting June 27 at the Lakeside Center, Mennonite Village in Albany.

Tues. & Thurs. for 10 weeks from 12:15 to 1:05 p.m. starting June 28 at the Cool Swanson Action Center in Albany.

Corvallis:
MWF for 10 weeks from 7 to 7:50 a.m., 8 to 8:50 a.m., 10 to 10:50 a.m. or 11 to 11:50 a.m. starting June 27 at the LBCC Benton Center, Corvallis. An “Accelerated BBB” class will also be offered from 9 to 9:50 a.m.

MWF for 10 weeks starting from 7 to 7:50 a.m. or 8 to 8:50 a.m. June 27 at the Corvallis Senior Center.

Tues. & Thurs, or Tue., Thurs. and Sat. for 10 weeks from 8 to 8:50 a.m. starting June 28 at the Corvallis Senior Center. Saturday only is also offered.

Lebanon:
MW for 10 weeks starting from 8 to 8:50 a.m. June 27 at the Lebanon Senior Center.
Fridays for 10 weeks from 8 to 8:50 a.m. starting July 1 at the Lebanon Senior Center.
