LBCC Winter Choir Concert “Winter Light”
The Linn-Benton Community College choirs will perform “Winter Light” Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the LBCC Russell Tripp Performance Center, Takena Hall, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.
Conducted by LBCC director of choral activities, James Reddan, the performance includes the Concert Choir, Re-Choired Element Chamber Choir, the Musical Theater/Opera Workshop, and the a cappella groups Blue Light Special and The Sirens. Penny Bazanele will accompany on piano.
Many different choral works will be featured including Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart), Seal Lullaby (Whitacre), Pezé Kafe (Kallman), Fionnghuala (McGlynn), Kasar mie la gaji (Grau), Contrition (Gjeilo), My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord (Hogan), Timor et Tremor (Poulenc).
LBCC a cappella ensembles will present a wide variety of popular favorites including Counting Stars, Replay, Suit & Tie, and Tonight, Tonight.
LBCC Musical Theater/Opera Workshop, directed by James Reddan and Dan Stone, will present short scenes and works from Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) throughout the evening as the LBCC choirs begin their preparations to represent Oregon and the U.S. at the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia this summer.
Tickets are $10 general admission, $7 for students, seniors, and veterans, and $5 for under 18.
