Choir's First Day Post from London

Today has been busy.  We had our final rehearsal today for our Olympic Journey.  Rehearsal finished just after noon and now everyone has left to go finish packing.

We met at 11:45pm in front of Takena Hall.  All aboard the bus...the journey to London, UK and the 2012 Summer Olympic Festivities has begun! 

The five-hour bus ride to Seattle was a bit grueling.  At first, we all fell asleep, then once we hit the bumpy roads of Takena we were all awake!!!  \We arrived at SEA-TAC, our bus driver told us he was glad we all made it (it was the first time he had ever driven there!).   

We checked in for the 8:00 am Air Canada Flight 540 to Toronto and then connecting to AC 856 to London Heathrow at 6:30pm.  Two of the students took their first trip on a plane!  What a way to make your first airplane trip!  One student even called out… “We’re on our way to London”…as the choir cheered just after take-off!  This is going to be a great experience!

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. The course is required for CCB licensing as part of the education requirement before taking the State of Oregon CCB exam. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. Community Art classes in Albany, Corvallis, and Lebanon

A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art.
