Image
The post-electric play “Mr. Burns” is coming to Linn-Benton Community College’s Russell Tripp Performance Center August 25-27 and September 1-2. Set at a time after the apocalypse, Anne Washburn's thought-provoking dark comedy starts with the animated sitcom “The Simpsons,” as a group of survivors sit around a campfire and try to recall the TV show’s "Cape Feare" episode. Years later, those survivors become one of many wandering theater troupes keeping civilization alive by performing classic TV episodes. As society rebuilds, do our pop culture memories become the new mythology, the new religion? Considering “The Simpsons,” is that such a bad thing? Directed by Pat Kight, "Mr. Burns" runs August 25, 26 and Sept. 1, 2 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance August 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $14 general admission, $10 students/seniors. Purchase online at linnbenton.edu/tickets. For more information, contact the LBCC Russell Tripp Performance Center at 541-917-453...
