LBCC Performing Arts Spring Play "Love, Lies and Lunacy "
Tickets are on sale for the LBCC Performing Arts spring play Love, Lies and Lunacy on May 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. and May 22 at 3 p.m. at the LBCC Russell Tripp Performance Center, Takena Hall, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW, Albany.
Love, Lies and Lunacy is a performance of Flaminio Scala's senario, Isabella's Jealousy. The play is devised by the student actors and performed in the style of Commedia dell' Arte. LBCC theater director Dan Stone will direct the play.
Commedia dell’ Arte, loosely translated to "comedy of craft," is a form of theatre that began in Italy in the mid-16th century and is characterized by masked "types” and improvised performances based on sketches or scenarios.
The May 22 is a benefit performance for the LBCC Performing Arts Foundation Scholarships, and is ASL interpreted. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students. Tickets are available online through Box Office Avenue for no fee at www.linnbenton.edu/go/tickets
Tickets also can be purchased at the theater box office or by phone at 541-917-4531, or at the door two hours prior to the performance. Please arrive early to purchase tickets, show starts promptly. Box-office hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 2 to 3 p.m.
