CWOSE - Middle & High-School Science Fair Results
Awards were recently announced for the Central Western Oregon Science Expo held at Linn-Benton Community College March 2. The fair hosted 53 high school and middle school students from Linn, Benton, Lane, Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Tillamook and Lincoln counties to compete in science and engineering categories. Participating students produced 43 exhibits, with 29 judges on-hand to score the projects. Awards were given for excellent achievement along with $32,000 in Oregon university scholarships. Two students also won an all-expense paid invitation to participate at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Phoenix, Arizona in May. CWOSE is a regional fair affiliated with the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair and the Intel Northwest Science Expo. Co-director funding for the fair was provided by the National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education Technician of the Future project award.
