Choirs Win Silver Ratings at American International Choral Festival
The Linn-Benton Community College Re-Choired Element Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Blue Light Special Men's A cappella Ensemble, and Sirens Women's A cappella Ensemble received four silver ratings at the American International Choral Festival held in Reno, Nevada on May 4.
The ensembles competed in the Concert Choirs of Mixed Voices, Chamber Choirs of Mixed Voices, Men's Barbershop and Women's Barbershop categories. LBCC's Blue Light Special received a special invitation to open the Opening Ceremonies for the festival, and the LBCC Re-Choired Element Chamber Choir was one of only nine choirs to be selected to compete in the Grand Prix competition. The LBCC Re-Choired Element Chamber also qualified for the 2012 World Choir Games.
Twenty-three choirs from around world were represented at the festival including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Mexico, Singapore, Philippines and the United Kingdom.
