LBCC Student Named OCCA All-Oregon Academic Team
Anthony Hewson, a computer science major at Linn-Benton Community College, has been nominated to the 2012 Oregon Community College Association All-Oregon Academic Team representing LBCC.
Hewson will be honored, along with students nominated from Oregon’s 16 other community colleges, at a luncheon with the Governor in April, where he will receive a plaque from the OCCA and a $1,000 scholarship from the university he plans to attend after graduating from LBCC.
Hewson, an Albany resident, is a member of the LBCC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. He plans to transfer to Oregon State University to complete his bachelor’s degree in computer science.
The Oregon Community College Association, in partnership with Phi Theta Kappa, recognizes outstanding students from Oregon’s community colleges yearly.
