Free Veterinary Assistant Orientation

A free Veterinary Assistant Program orientation will be held at Linn-Benton Community College for those interested in training to become a Veterinary Assistant.

Orientation will be held on Thursday, Dec. 30, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center, second floor room CC-212, 6500 Pacific Blvd. SW. No need to preregister to attend. Attendance at the orientation is mandatory in order to take the program.

The 16-week LBCC Veterinary Assistant Program starts Feb. 14, 2011 and runs through June 3, 2011. Skill areas covered in the training include an introduction to hospital management, business procedures and job preparation skills. The program will also cover basic education and experience in commonly used medical and surgical techniques as well as an understanding of common disease states.
