Mushroom Dyeing Workshop Nov. 4 & 5, Sweet Home

Learn to transform mushrooms into natural dyes in a Mushroom Dyeing workshop held Nov. 4 and 5 through LBCC Extended Learning.

Learn to identify and harvest dye producing mushroom species to create your own dyes and apply them to a silk scarf in this hands-on workshop. Cost is $80 and includes supplies.

Class meets Saturday, Nov. 5 at 8 a.m. at Sweet Home High School to carpool from there to trail locations on Highway 20 to identify to harvest mushrooms.

Class meets again Sunday, Nov. 6 from 9 to 11:50 a.m. at Sweet Home High School to process the mushrooms into dyes and create a hand-dyed scarf. Cost is

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence.
