Benton Center Acoustic Showcase, Oct. 20, Noon

Dave and Sharon Thormahlen will perform at the LBCC Benton Center Acoustic Showcase from Noon to 1 p.m. Friday, October 20, 757 NW Polk Ave., Corvallis.

For more than 30 years, the Thormahlen’s have made their living creating music and musical instruments. Their specialty is the folk harp, with Dave building over 1,400 instruments and Sharon publishing 16 books of harp music.

Sharon Thormahlen plays the harp and Dave Thormahlen plays guitar, mandolin and banjo, covering a variety of musical styles including originals, Latin, Irish and Beatles tunes.

Oregon Construction Contractors Board Education (CCB) will be offered through the Small Business Development Center at Linn-Benton Community College. This five session course will meet on April 22, 29, May 6, 13, and 20 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., on the LBCC Albany campus, Calapooia Center room CC-213. LBCC Holds Annual Career Fair

A free Career Fair will be held at Linn‑Benton Community College Career Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Activities Center gym, Albany campus, 6500 Pacific Blvd. S.W. More than 50 businesses, industries and government agencies will provide information on careers and employment opportunities. College advisors will available to answer questions on career and technical training programs. Be prepared to ask questions, distribute your resume and complete applications. A variety of art classes, including a few new ones, are being offered through LBCC Community Education starting March 28. In the new class “Art & Etsy,” learn to polish your craft and sell your art. Bring your own product to polish up, or bring to life a new creation. Immerse yourself in product design and then create a catchy shop name and an inviting online presence.
